My name is Salam Djaaz. I was born is Bagdag. Now I live in The Hague. I studied Fine Arts at the university of Bagdad and I studied Painting & Graphic at the Koninklijke Academie in The Hague.
I mostly work in an expressionistic and figurative way. I want to express the feelings and emotions of people. In all the different and sometimes difficult situations they experience. Next to that, I am also very inspired by the Mesopotamian culture and other ancient societies.
I love to paint life itself. People, experiences, dreams, thoughts. I get inspired by the life I lived in Bagdag, the live I live in The Netherlands. I want to paint, to make drawings an graphic work. I want to catch moments and feelings. To show were a person in standing, what does he want, what does he need.
